In 2022 I graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand and obtained my Bachelor of Oral Hygiene degree (with distinction)

I have since been working in both the private and the medical aid practice sector gaining experience and expanding my skillset and passion for Oral Hygiene.

That is when I realized I enjoy the general aspects of Dentistry as well as the periodontal, cosmetic, and aesthetic components which led me to do additional diploma courses in Microneedling and Chemical Peels in 2023.

In 2024 I obtained my certification as an Independent private practitioner and have since had the privilege of joining Dr Chris Traut and his team where I can play an integral part in helping patients achieve their desired Oral Health goals whilst also broadening my horizons in digital dentistry, orthodontics and cosmetic procedures. I love working as an Oral Hygienist and look forward to sharing my passion at Dentistry By Design! 🦷

With just over 20 years of experience as a dental assistant both here and abroad, Neil makes our practice shine with skilled dental service, loyalty, and mutual respect.

Constantly upskilling himself, perfection is Neil’s passion! He loves what he does and enjoys working in a well-oiled practice with dentists who push the limits of dentistry.

When he’s not working his dental magic, Neil can be found riding his mountain bike over dusty crags and wild places.

Sapho is our trustworthy patient relations manager responsible for making sure you’re wholly satisfied with our services .She is also an HPCSA-registered dental assistant with experience in practice management and received her qualifications at the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein. Her good cheer, top-class people skills, and team-oriented dedication make her a joy to have at our practice.

Maintaining and improving communications with all our patients, Sapho always listens with compassion. She’ll make sure you feel comfortable and at ease every step of the way — and give us a good earful if you’re not!

In addition, Sapho is a certified home-based caregiver focused on elderly care and a certified first aider with comprehensive training in cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation (CPR) and the correct use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) — all essential skills emphasised to save a person’s life in a medical emergency (so you know you’re in good hands with us!).

Ashley works behind the scenes to ensure that our dental studio runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. With her passion for making others feel beautiful and her open and honest nature, she puts her heart into making practice management professional and personal.

Ashley completed her undergraduate degree with a double major in Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Monash University and went on to receive her honours degree in Business Management (cum laude). She has a passion for business and is always eager to learn more and develop her skills.

When not at work, Ashley’s busy dancing with the stars as a competitive Latin & Ballroom dancer! One of her favourite quotes: “What makes a legend? Is it what they do while they’re alive or how they are remembered once they’re gone?”
